DAY 23 - SHIMONASEKI TO MIYAJAMA - THURSDAY 19 MAY

After a rather disappointing visit to the fish market in Seoul, we had high hopes of Shimonaseki to provide a decent breakfast.  The market was certainly lively

and everyone is obsessed with the pufferfish - fugu - notorious fo its poisonous tetrodotxin (chefs undergo three years' training to qualify to prepare the fish - don't think we'll be risking it!).

No luck again with the breakfast sushi though.  So we wandered for some picnic provisions - seeing more funky Japanese architecture

and headed to Iwakuni with its 1673 Kintai Bridge, spanning the Nishiki river

Its five sequential wooden arches, set on stone piers, run for 175m
