AUGUST 2016 : NORTHERN TERRITORY, CAIRNS, TIMOR LESTE, BALI

Duncan's cousin, Sheila, and her husband, Deddy, are hosting the wedding of their daughter, Laura, at "Kebun", the beautiful Bali hotel which Deddy designed and built. It's to be held on 3 September and we're heading down there to represent the family.  

So it was the perfect excuse, while we were in the region, to stop off en route in northern Australia to see Darwin and Kakadu National Park. And, when we told our plans to Sydney friends, Fiona and Gordon, they suggested flying up to meet us for a trip to Kakadu, following up for good measure with a trip to Cairns and then Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest.  Darwin is also only a short flight to Dili, the capital of one of the world's newest countries, Timor Leste.  A plan was born...
